Most don't think of Short Pump as a place from which to view sunsets ...here weather patterns run west to east ...mountains to the west often deflect weather north leaving our air humid and stagnant ... but when a front does rumble across the mountians ... it clears the sky pushing the water-laden air east ... and sky to the west can be spectacular ... lending credence to the old saw ... "Red at night, sailors delight."
