After a wonderful week with daughter, Shannon, and grandson Max, it was off on the train for Washington, D.C. From there they flew back to Memphis, Tenn., and we stayed for another day in the city, knocked around a bit with friends, took in a play at the Kennedy Center and an overnight at the wonderful, old Mayflower Hotel. Then it was back on the train for home and our stop at Ashland’s beautiful little station. With a tip of the hat, the conductor says goodbye. It’s a magnificent way to travel.
